Riding The Flume, by Patricia Pfitsch. Is a book about a 15 year old girl named Frances Canvanaugh, who lives in a small town called Connersville. She finds a secret note written by her sister who had died in a lamdslide six years ago. She then finds her sisters diary and finds a will with her cousin, giving a giant sequoia to the sister when she was alive. So she rides an old lumber flume to a larger town to get help to stop the logging of the large sequoia.
